Ingredients
- 1 1/4 c. vegtable oil
- 2 c. flour
- 9-14 oz chicken broth
- 2 1/2 c. chopped onions
- 1 c. green onions
- 1/2 c. chopped celery
- 2 garlic cloves chopped
- 1-10oz can diced tomatoe with green chiles
- 1-8 oz can tomato sauce
- 3-lbs peeled fresh shrimp
- 1-16 oz lump crabmeat
- 1/2 c. chopped fresh parsley
- 1 T file' powder

Step 1
Heat oil in large stock pot over medium heat;gradually whisk in flour and cook whisking constantly until flour is a dark mahogany (about 30 minutes. Stir in chicken broth and next 6 ingredients bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer stirring occasionally 3 hours. Peel and devein shrimp add to broth mixture and cook stirring often 15 minutes or just until shrimp turn pink. Stir in crabmeat. Remove from heat and stir in file' powder. Serve over rice.
