Ingredients

  • 2 cups macaroni or similar pasta (10 0z)
  • 6 tbs butter
  • 4 tbs flour
  • 1/2 + 1/8 tsp salt
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 14 slices american cheese

Preparation time 20mins
Cooking time 50mins

Preparation

Step 1

cook pasta
In saucepan, melt butter, blend in flour, salt and pepper
Add milk, heat till very warm.
Do NOT heat till bubbly!!!!
Add in cheese ripped into slices
Stir till melted. Do not continue cooking past melting of the cheese!!

in 1 1/2 qt casserole, put in macaroni and pour in cheese sauce

Bake at 350 for 35 mins
