cup chopped nuts (optional)
cup brown sugar
cup margarine at room temperature
pint frozen or fresh strawberries
cup white sugar
teaspoon lemon juice
Mix together the nuts, brown sugar, flour and margarine. Bake at 250 degrees for 45 minutes. Stir every 15 minutes. Don't get too brown. Spread mixture on the bottom of lightly greased, glass 9x13. Whip for 20 minutes; pint of frozen or fresh strawberries, white sugar, egg whites, vanilla and lemon juice. Whip 1/2 pint whipping cream in a separate bowl. Add to strawberry mixture. Spread strawberry mixture over nut mixture. Freeze overnight. Take out of freezer 1/2 hour before serving. Can substitute 1 box Dream whip for cream.
