Ingredients
- 12 oz uncooked pasta (tubettes are good)
- 6 1/2 c fresh broccoli florets no stems
- 5 cloves garlic smashed and chopped
- 1/4 c grated Pecorino Romano or Parmagiano Reggiano (do not use cheap cheese)
- 2 T olive oil
- salt and coarse black pepper

Preparation
Step 1
Bring large pot of water to boil
add pasta and broccoli at same time
cook al dente according to pasta box directions
when almost done reserve 1 c pasta water then drain pasta
return pot to stove and turn heat to med high
add 1 T olive oil when hot
add garlic and cook till golden
reduce heat to low and add pasta back in and mix well
add remaining oil and grated cheese and salt and pepper-mix well
add 1/2 c pasta water-mix well-add more pasta water if needed
