Ingredients
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup white granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 whole vanilla bean pod
- 2 cups fresh cherries, pits removed and cut into fourths

Preparation
Step 1
1. In mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, milk and sugar. Stir until sugar completely dissolves. Stir in vanilla extract. Split vanilla bean using point of sharp knife. Scrape seeds from pod and add to mixture. Add cherries. Stir to mix.
2. Pour mixture into ice cream maker and follow manufacturer's directions for processing and churning the ice cream.
3. Spoon soft ice cream into freezer-safe container and freeze for 4 hours or overnight before serving.
