Lentil Sausage Soup

Ingredients
- 1 pkg turkey Italian sausage links, casings removed
- 13 c water
- 1 c chopped carrot
- 1/2 c chopped celery
- 2 t onion powder
- 3/4 t dried oregano
- 1/2 t garlic powder
- 1/2 t dried basil
- 1/2 t seasoning salt
- 1/4 t pepper
- 2 c dried lentils, rinsed
- 1/2 c uncooked long grain rice
- 2 cans (15 oz and one that is 8 oz)tomato sauce
- 2 1/2 c frozen cheese tortellini

Preparation
Step 1
Crumble sausage into a skillet. Cook over med heat until no longer pink. Drain.
In a large saucepan, combine water, carrots, celery, onion powder, oregano, garlic powder, basil, salt and pepper. Add lentils and rice. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and cover. SImmer for 18-20 min or until lentils and rice are tender.
Stir in tomato sauce; return to a boil. Add tortellini and sausage. Cook for 3-4 min or until tortellini are tender, stirring several times.
