Orange-Oatmeal Breakfast Pie

This dish looks similar to a quiche, but tastes nothing like one. It is sweet and firm with overtones of oranges!

Ingredients

  • 1 9" frozen pie shell or refrigerated pie crust dough
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp. grated orange peel
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 cup quick cooking oats - dry
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • pinch of salt

Step 1

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

(If using the refrigerated pie crust: Roll crust into a pie dish and pre-bake according to package directions.)

2. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and pour into pie shell.
Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown and set. Let stand for 10 minutes before cutting.
