Ingredients

  • Meringue:
  • 1 can evap milk
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs yolks
  • 2 tbls flour
  • 2 tbls corn starch
  • 1 tbls vanilla
  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 1 box vanilla wafers,
  • 6 egg whites
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar

Preparation

Step 1

Line 9 X 13 pan with cookies. Slice bananas over wafers. Combine milk, sugar, flour, corn starch, vanilla and egg yolks in 2 qt saucepan. Cook over med heat, stirring until thickned. Pour over wafers and bananas.

Meringue:
Put egg whites in mixer bowl and beat on high until fluffy. Slowly add sugar and cream of tartar while continuing to beat. Spread over pudding and brown in 400° oven.
