Apple Cake with Caramel Sauce

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 Tbls Hot water
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp cinnamin
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3 cups apples, finely sliced
- 1/2 cup walnuts
- Caramel Sauce
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup cream or half and half
- 1/2 tsp vanilla

Preparation
Step 1
Cake -
Cream butter with sugar. Add egg and hot water. Sift flour with cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda and salt. Add 3 cups finely sliced apples and 1/2 cup nuts.
Bake in 8x8 pan 1 hr at 350.
Caramel Sauce -
Mix butter with sugar and brown sugar and cream. Cook over lot heat until dissolved, then turn heat up and cook 1 minute. Add 1/2 tsp vanilla. Serve sauce hot over the cake.
