Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup light margarine, stick form
  • 1/2 cup light cream cheese
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract
  • 2 cups white whole-wheat flour
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/3 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 4 cups heaping white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped maraschino cherries
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 48 halved cherries

Step 1

Cream butter and cream cheese; add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in flavorings. Combine flours, baking powder, soda and salt in a medium mixing bowl. Gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chips, chopped cherries and pecans. Drop dough by heaping tablespoons 2" apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Top with half cherry. Bake at 375 F. for 12 min. Remove to wire racks to cool.
