Sausage, Cheese and Noodle Casserole

Ingredients

  • 6 oz pkg wide egg noodles
  • 6 green onions
  • 2 lbs. ground sausage
  • 1 (14-oz) can diced tomatoes*
  • 1 (15-oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 (16-oz) loaf processed cheese spread
  • 1 (8-oz) container sour cream
  • 1 (8-oz) pkg cream cheese, softened

Step 1

Stir together egg noodles and green onion; set aside. Cook sausage in a large skillet over medium heat, stirring until it crumbles and is no longer pink; drain and return to skillet. Stir in diced tomatoes and next 5 ingredients. Cut cheese spread into 1/2 inch cubes; reserve 1 cup. Stir together remaining cheese spread, sour cream, and cream cheese. Spoon 1/3 of sausage mixture into a 13"x9" baking dish; top with 1/2 of noodle mixture and 1/2 of sour cream mixture. Repeat layering procedure once. Spoon remaining 1/3 of sausage mixture over sour cream mixture, and sprinkle evenly with reserved 1 cup cubed cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
