- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup light or dark corn syrup
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

Pecan Jewel Cookies with Spicy Jam Filling

- 3 cups pecans, coarsely chopped
- 2/3 cup raspberry jam (the jam should have a thick consistency because it spreads during baking)

Directions In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, water, oil and egg whites; beat on low speed for 30 seconds

- 1 package (18-1/4 ounces) chocolate cake mix
- 1-1/4 cups water
- 1/3 cup canola oil
- 3 egg whites
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/3 cup quick-cooking oats
- 3 tablespoons cold butter
- 2 tablespoons flaked coconut
- 2 tablespoons chopped pecans

Directions: Whisk the sugar and cornstarch together in a small then add 2 Tbsp of the reserved cherry juice
