- 1/2 onion, diced fine
- 2 teaspoons tomato paste
- 2 cloves garlic, pressed
- 1/2 cup red wine (or use red grape juice with a splash of vinegar)
- 3/4 cup beef broth
- 1/2 teaspoon thyme
