Soft Eggnog Sugar Cookies

Heat oven to 375 F. Cream together the butter and sugar
- Glaze:
- 1 cup butter softened
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 5 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup eggnog
- …………..
- 1/2 cup water (or milk or eggnog, OR replace part of the liquid with rum or whiskey)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- pinch of salt
