Peach Long Cake (Grandma's Recipe)

Try this with strawberries instead of peaches and omit the cinnamon
- Meanwhile sift:
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- Sprinkle over 3 1/2 to 4 cups sliced, fresh peaches (about 6 to 8)
- Let stand at room temperature.
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 6 tbsp. sugar
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- Cut in, with knives, or beat until mixture looks crumbly...then add
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 2/3 cup milk

Directions for Freezing: Wrap extra muffins individually in aluminum foil or place them in a freezer bag
- 3/4 cup whole wheat pastry flour (may substitute standard whole wheat flour)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
- 1/4 cup chia seeds
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
- 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Better-Than-Olive Garden® Alfredo Sauce

Melt butter and olive oil in a saucepan over medium-low heat
- 3 tablespoons sweet butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 /4 teaspoon ground white pepper
- 1 /2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 /4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 (12 ounce) package angel hair pasta
Sweet Onion & Herb Gravy

Melt butter in a large straight-sided skillet over medium-high heat
- 6 tbsp. unsalted butter
- 1 sweet onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
- 6 c. chicken stock
- 3/4 c. dry white wine
- 2 tbsp. chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
- 2 tbsp. chopped fresh chives
- 1 tbsp. chopped fresh thyme
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
Southern Cobb Salad with Roasted Sweet Onion Dressing

- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
