- 1 1/2 cups raw macadamia nuts (note: ideally you will soak the nuts in water for at least 2 hours and drain, but this step is optional)
- 1/2 cup canned coconut milk
- 3 frozen bananas, chopped
- 8 pitted dates
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- Pinch of sea salt
- 1/2 cup Coconut Manna by Nutiva (see article above for where to purchase)
- 1/4 cup raw cacao powder (such as Navitas Naturals)
- 1/4 cup raw cacao nibs (such as Navitas Naturals), plus more to taste for sprinkling on top

Warming Winter Vegan Smoothie Recipe with Maca and Raw Chocolate

It’s true, smoothies really are a summery treat
- Make 2 large smoothies
- 6 cups nondairy milk, water or tea
- 1 banana (raw or frozen)
- handful of raw nuts (I love Brazil nuts in here but any kind will do)
- 3 tablespoons raw chocolate powder
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 2 tablespoons hemp seeds
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1 tablespoon maca powder
- 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup (a bit more if you have a sweet tooth, but not too much!)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon each: dried ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom
- pinch sea salt and cayenne pepper

- 1 red bell pepper
- 1/2 small red onion
- 1-2 roma tomatoes
- Large bunch cilantro, stems removed
- Optional: green onion
- {For the dressing}
- Juice of 1 lime
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 tsp. dijon mustard
- 1-2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp. cumin
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- Optional: chipotle powder, chili powder, pepper, hot sauce, other seasonings, etc.
