Szarlotka (Polish Apple Pie)

Bake this apple pie in a 9" round spring-form pan for great presentation and easy serving
- 4 c unbleached all purpose flour
- 1/2 c sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 c (1/2 lb) salted butter, softened
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 3 Tbsp milk
- 2 lbs firm baking apple (Gala, McIntosh, or Pink Lady), peeled, cored, and sliced
- 2 lbs soft baking apple (Braeburn, Red Delicious, or Fuji), peeled, cored, and sliced
- 2 tsp cinnamon
Vegan Black Bean Burgers

"Easy black bean burgers for everyone! You don't need to follow the recipe or amounts exactly
- 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1/3 cup chopped sweet onion
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 3 baby carrots, grated (optional)
- 1/4 cup minced green bell pepper (optional)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon warm water
- 3 tablespoons chile-garlic sauce (such as Sriracha®), or to taste
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon seafood seasoning (such as Old Bay®)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 slices whole-wheat bread, torn into small crumbs
- 3/4 cup unbleached flour, or as needed
Pumpkin Oat Pancakes

- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/4 cup milk of choice
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil (or butter), melted
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (about 1 small lemon, juiced)
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup (or honey)

- 2 eggs

Banana Bread Pudding

- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk vanilla or plain (or other non-dairy milk)
- 1 cup mashed overripe bananas
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch or potato starch
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

- 1/2 cup apple cider or apple juice

Dehydrated meat

How Long will Dried Meat Keep? Freezing dried meat will preserve it for several years
- 1 1.Thoroughly 1.Thoroughly wash chicken breasts/tenderloins under cold water. Pat dry with paper towel.
- 2 2.Cut 1/4” chicken breasts/tenderloins into even 1/4” strips, going with or against the grain.
- 3 3.Lay 3.Lay strips spread out evenly across each rack of dehydrator. Ensure they are not touching and are roughly equidistant from each other. Remove any empty racks (consult owner’s manual that you are at least using the minimum required amount of racks)
- 4 4.Set to 165F). to poultry or meat setting (usually 165F). (165F is the minimum recommended cooking temperature for poultry set by the USDA)
- 5 5.Dehydrate 8-12 to or 8-12 hours, depending on ambient temperature and humidity.. Best to operate dehydrator in a dry area, with good ventilation.
- 8 to 8 hours for done-ness. Strips should feel leathery, but not brittle and not moist. Any liquid weeping should be blotted and strips allowed to continue cooking.
