- 1 1/2 cups (300g) sugar
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

- Chocolate icing ingredients:
- 1 cup (240ml) milk
- 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) (60g) unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

Open the ice cream box and cut the 2 quarts of ice cream into 6 equal portions
- 2 quarts vanilla ice cream (box works best)
- 6 different Jell-O flavors/colors – she uses Red (strawberry or cherry), Orange (orange), Yellow (lemon), Green (lime), Blue (blueberry mix) and Violet (grape). Please note that Kool-Aid might work, too.

Shaker Cider Pie

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a 9-inch pie plate with pastry
- 1/2 cup boiled cider (see Note)
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup maple sugar (or brown sugar)
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs, separated
- 1 teaspoon fresh nutmeg
- 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
Blueberry Sweet Rolls with Sweet Lemon Glaze

Make the filling first: Combine the frozen blueberries, sugar, and cornstarch in a bowl
- Rolls:
- 2 and 3/4 cups (345g) all-purpose flour (measured correctly)
- 3 Tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 package Red Star Platinum Yeast or any instant yeast* (1 packet = 2 and 1/4 teaspoons)
- 1/2 cup (120ml) water
- 1/4 cup (60ml) milk (cow's milk - I used skim)
- 2.5 Tablespoons (40g) unsalted butter
- 1 large egg, at room temperature
- Filling:
- 1 and 1/3 cups (225g) frozen* blueberries, not thawed
- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- Sweet Lemon Glaze:
- Juice from 1 large lemon*
- 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar (or more)
- 1-2 Tablespoons (15-30ml) half-and-half (or heavy cream or milk)
Apple Slab

Yield: 12 to 16 servings
- Crust:
- 2 1/2 cups King Arthur Perfect Pastry Blend or Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
- 2 tablespoons buttermilk powder
- 1/4 cup vegetable shortening
- 10 tablespoons very cold unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vinegar, cider or white
- 6 to 10 tablespoons ice water
- Filling:
- 1 cup Panko bread crumbs, or other coarse dry bread crumbs; or 1 cup coarsely crushed cornflakes
- 8 cups peeled, cored, and sliced Granny Smith or other tart, firm apples, about 3 1/4 pounds (8 to 10 medium) whole apples
- 2/3 cup cinnamon sugar
- Topping (optional):
- milk or cream
- coarse white sparkling sugar
- Glaze (optional):
- 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1/3 cup boiled cider*
- small pinch of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon milk or cream, optional, if necessary to thin the glaze
- Substitute 1/3 cup honey, if desired; or 1/4 cup thawed frozen apple juice concentrate, or maple syrup.
