OLD FASHIONED TEA CAKES

Bake at 350 degrees. Cream butter flavor shortening and sugar; add eggs and vanilla, mix well
- 1 c. butter flavor shortening
- 1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. salt
Grandma's Old Fashioned Tea Cakes

In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth
- 1 cup butter
- 1 3/4 cups white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Banana Cake With Bourbon Cream Cheese Frosting

Moist and dense and no nuts! This is always my husband's birthday cake
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 4 ripe bananas, mashed
- 2/3 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 (8 ounce) box cream cheese, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 50 ml Bourbon (an airline bottle)
Almond Crescent Cookies

Method 1 Cream the butter and the sugar together until light and fluffy
- 1 cup of butter, room temperature
- 2/3 cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of almond extract
- 2 1/2 cups of flour
- 1 cup of almond flour (can substitute ground almonds*)
- 1/4 cup of powdered sugar for sprinkling

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 2 cups (4 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
- 6 ounces cream cheese (not whipped), room temperature
- 1 1/4 cups sugar

5-Layer Mexican Dip
