- Cookies:
- 1/2 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cake flour
- 3/4 cup cornstarch

- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- dash of salt
- 1/4 cup very cold water
- For best results, refrigerate all ingredients before mixing the dough.

- ◾ 1-3/4 pounds boneless beef chuck roast
- ◾ 2 cups baby carrots
- ◾ 6 small red-skinned potatoes, cut in quarters
