Tastiest Cheddar-Bacon Burgers

Heat gas or charcoal grill
- 2 lb lean (at least 80 percenatge) ground beef
- 1 pkg. instant dry onion-mushroom soup mix
- 1/4 c. chopped parsley or green onions
- 1.4 c. steak sauce
- 8 slices (1 oz. each) N.Y. white cheddar cheese
- 1 large red onion, cut into 1/4 to 1/2-inch-thick slices
- olive oil
- 8 onion burger buns, split
- 8 small Bibb lettuce leaves
- 1/2 c. ranch dressing or mayonnaise
- 8 slices cooked bacon
- 2 medium tomatoes, thinly sliced

- 1/2 lb. *Drier's* smoked polish kielbasa or summer sausage sliced

- 1/2 tsp. adobo sauce (from can of chipotle chiles)
