- 12 ounces dried pasta shapes (fusilli, wagon wheels, rotini, etc.)

- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, pressed through a garlic press
- 1 large bunch broccoli, stems peeled, and stems and florets cut into small pieces
