Pistachio Cake with White Chocolate Frosting

Directions 1. Allow egg whites to stand at room temperature for 30 minutes
- 5 egg whites
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup salted roasted pistachio nuts, finely ground
- 2 teaspoons finely shredded orange peel
- White Chocolate Frosting (see recipe below)
- Caramelized Stars (see recipe below) (optional)
- Chopped pistachio nuts (optional)
- Shaved white baking chocolate with cocoa butter (optional)

Absolute Best Ever Lasagna

My family's favorite. This is a very meaty lasagna
- 1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
- 1/2 lb Italian sausage
- 1 large onion , chopped
- 2 garlic cloves , minced
- 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon dried basil
- 2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans whole tomatoes , undrained and chopped
- 2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
- 24 ounces cottage cheese or 24 ounces ricotta cheese
- 2 eggs , beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons parsley
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 lb mozzarella cheese , divided
- 12 -15 lasagna noodles

- 12 ounces sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1" pieces
- 1 cup dried apricots, chopped
- 15 gingersnap cookies
- 3/4 cup fiber one cereal
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 8 ounces fat-free cream cheese, softened
- 8 ounces Neufchatel cheese, softened
- 1 cup plain nonfat yogurt
- 3 egg whites
- 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons finely chopped crystallized ginger
- 1 tablespoon whole wheat flour
- 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Preheat the oil: Fill dutch oven or deep frying pan with two inches of oil- 3/4 vegetable oil, 1/4 olive oil
- For the Cheesy Marinara Sauce:
- 1 package store bought ravioli (about 24)
