Sylvia’s Pie Crust

Mix flour, lard and salt with mixer until size of peas
- 3 C flour
- 1 C + 1 T lard
- 1/2 C ice water
- 1 tsp. salt
Strawberry Rhubarb Pie

Combine 1 1/4 C sugar, salt & flour
- 1 1/4 C sugar
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/3 C flour
- 2 C fresh strawberries
- 2 C fresh rhubarb, cut in 1" pieces
- 2 T butter
- 1 T sugar / brown sugar
- pastry for 2-crust pie
Cranberry Salsa w/ tree chips

Put cranberries, apple. red pepper & onion in food processor; pulse until chopped
- Salsa:
- 1 bag (12 oz.) fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1 Granny Smith apple, peeled, cored & cut
- 1/2 large red pepper, cut
- 3/4 C sugar
- 1/3 C apple juice
- 3 T chopped fresh cilantro
- 2 T chopped pickled jalapeno pepper (optional)
- 1 tsp. grated lime zest
- Chips:
- 1 pkg. (14 oz.) spinach tortillas
Nellie’s Praline Pumpkin Pie

Mix together first 3 ingredients, press in bottom of unbaked pie crust, bake 10 min
- Pumpkin filling:
- 3 T butter
- 1/3 C b-sugar (packed)
- 1/3 C chopped nuts
- 1 C evaporated milk
- 1/2 C water
- 1 1/2 C pumpkin
- 1/2 C granulated sugar
- 1/2 C b-sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- pumpkin spice
Apple Squash Casserole

- brown sugar
- cinnamon
- acorn OR butternut squash
- miniature marshmallows
Steak Kabob Marinade

Mix all ingredients. Cube steak & add to marinade
- 1/2 C A-1 sauce
- 1/4 C olive oil
- 1/4 C balsamic vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- oregano, chopped
Chocolate Mousse with Puff Pastry Hearts

Directions Combine the chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of barely simmering water
- 3 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces
- 2 large eggs, separated, plus 1 beaten egg for brushing
- 6 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons cognac or brandy (blackberry brandy)
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry (half of a 17-ounce box), thawed
- Whipped cream, for topping

- 1 C milk
- 1 C sugar
- 1 C butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Tomato Bisque

- 1 stick oleo, melted
- 1/2 C brown sugar
- 8 oz. can hunts tomato sauce
- 4 slices bread
French Onion Dip

- 1 T dried chopped onion
- 1 t onion powder
- 1 pinch garlic powder
- 1/4 t salt
- 1 T finely chopped fresh parsley
- white wine vinegar
- dried lemon peel
