  • Coat four 12-ounce bags frozen tart cherries with:
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons almond extract
  • Pour in 9 x 13 and top with:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Dash nutmeg
  • 6 oz bag slivered almonds
  • Cut in 1 stick cold butter with pastry cutter
  • Bake at 350 for 45 minutes
  • Serve with whipped topping:
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
