Vanilla Carmel Flan

Preheat oven to 325. Combine 1/3 cup sugar and water in a small heavy saucepan over medium high heat

- 2 Egg whites
- 1 1/2 cups 2% low-fat milk
- 1 cup Evaporated skim milk

Olive Garden's Lasagna

I like using sausage instead of all beef for a little extra flavor
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef (or 1/2 pkg of Jimmy Dean Sausage - mild & 1/2 lb. ground beef for a little more flavor)
- 1 tsp cracked black pepper....use to coat beef
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 1 green pepper chopped
- 6 cloves garlic minced
- 5 basil leaves finely chopped

- 6 oz. Portobello mushrooms, sliced
- 3 tablespoons butter

- 1 cup milk, warmed
- 1 1/4 cups freshly-grated Fontina cheese
- 1 cup freshly-grated sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup freshly-grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, or more to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon finely-ground black pepper, or more to taste
- (optional toppings: finely-chopped fresh parsley or basil, extra Parmesan cheese)
