  • For the cupcakes:
  • 1 package Oreos (used for entire recipe)
  • 2 cups + 4 tbs all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 8 tbsp. (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 2/3 cups sugar
  • 4 large egg whites, at room temperature 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk (best to use 2% or higher)
  • 20 Oreo cookies, coarsely chopped (place in a zip lock baggie and crush them with a wooden spoon, rolling pin or anything heavy!)
  • For the frosting:
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 6 tbsp. unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 4 cups confectioners’ sugar, sifted
  • 2 tbsp. heavy cream
