Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Treats

1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)
- 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Corn and Poblano Lasagna

- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
- 3 cloves garlic, minced, divided
- 2 cups fresh corn kernels (from about 2 ears), or frozen and thawed
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup thinly sliced white onion
- 1 large zucchini, thinly sliced lengthwise
- 4 poblano chiles, charred, peeled, stemmed, seeded and cut into 1-inch strips
- 12 (7 by 3-inch) no-boil lasagna sheets
- 2 cups shredded Oaxaca cheese, or mozzarella
Peanut Blossom Cookies

A Christmas tradition. One of my favorite cookies
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup shortening or butter, softened (I like half of each)
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup approximate sugar for coating cookies (I use colored at Christmas and Easter)
- 36 Hershey's® Kisses® Brand milk chocolates, unwrapped- can also use stars. I have also done these with mini peanut butter cup.
Green Beans like Grandma made

These are the best. The bacon is an addition to a recipe from the Pioneer Woman
- 1 lb green beans
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper
- 2 tablespoons bacon grease (can substitute 1 T butter and 1 T olive oil)
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon kosher salt (can substitute regular table salt; use 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon)
- Ground black pepper
- 1/4 pound bacon, cooked, drained, chopped

- 2 1/2 cups flour (wheat is probably better!)

Although the recipe calls for Italian sausage, I have made it with andouille sausage as well
- 1 lb mild bulk Italian sausage
- 2 garlic cloves,minced
- 1 cup water
- 1 (14 oz) can diced tomatoes
- 1/2 tsp basil
- 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
- 8 oz frozen tortellini
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 5 cups beef broth
- 1 1/2 cups shredded zucchini
- 1 cup grated carrots
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 1 medium green pepper, chopped

- 1/3 cup plus 3 tablespoons Dutch process cocoa powder

- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup chopped macadamia nuts or pecans
- 1 tablespoon brandy
- 1 (14-ounce) round brie
- Apple wedges, for serving
- Pear wedges, for serving
- 2 to 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- Crackers, for serving

To make the crust, combine cracker crumbs, 2 Tbsps
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
- 2 Tbsps. sugar, and 1/2 cup sugar
- 6 Tbsps. butter, melted
- 3 8-oz. packs cream cheese, softened
- 2 eggs
- 2 Tbsps. sour cream
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup white chocolate chips
- 2 tsps. shortening
- 1 3/4 cup crushed Butterfinger candies
- 8 oz. whipped topping
- 1/2 cup peanut butter chips
Buddy Boy Dog Biscuits

1. Cut in 1/3 cup shortening until mix is coarse crumbs
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup nonfat dry milk powder
- 1/2 cup oats, rolled (raw) -- quick cooking
- 1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon chicken or beef bouillon granules dissolved in 1 / 2 cup water
