Lemon Meringue Pie

Mix first four ingredients in saucepan, gradually add hot water stirring constantly
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 3 tbsp flour
- dash of salt
- 1 1/2 cups hot water
- 3 slightly beaten egg yolks
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 tsp grated lemon rind
- 1/3 cup lemon juice

Measure water into large mixing bowl and dissolve 1 tsp sugar
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 pkg active dry yeast
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup soft butter
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 5 1/2 - 6 cups flour

Sukiyaki

In a medium saucepan, combine ingredients for sauce and heat over medium-low heat
- Cooking sauce:
- 1 - 1/2 lb. sliced beef
- 1 bunch green onions, cut diagonally into 1-1/2 inch pieces
- 2 medium onions, thinly sliced 6 shiitake mushrooms, scored
- 1 large carrot
- 1 chinese cabbage (napa) sliced
- 1/2 lb tofu cut in 1-inch cubes 1 bunch spinach leaves

- Other vegetables may be substituted.
- You may use almost any type of oriental noodles
- 2 cups water 1/3 to 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup soy sauce 1/4 cup sake

Bacon Onion Turnovers

In large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water
- 3 pkg yeast
- ½ cup warm water
- 1 cup warm milk
- ½ cup melted butter
- 2 tsp. salt
- 3 ½ to 4 cups flour
- ½ pound sliced bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 egg, lightly
Crown Jewel Cake

Prepare orange, cherry, and lime Jell-O using 1 cup boiling water and 1/2 cup cold water for each
- 3 oz pkg of orange Jell-O
- 3 oz pkg of cherry Jell-O
- 3 oz pkg of lime Jell-O
- 3 oz pkg of lemon Jell-O
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice
- 4 cups whipped cream
Red wine braised beef ribs

Serve with cabernet mashed potatoes
- 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 full individual beef ribs, about 6” to 8” long, or 8 to 12 smaller pieces
- 3 onions, peeled and chopped
- 2 stalks of celery, chopped
- 3 carrots, peeled and chopped
- 1 x750 millilitre bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon
- 1 tablespoon dried rosemary or 1 bunch fresh
- 4 bay leaves
- Sprinkled sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

- 2 cups salted mixed nuts
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup corn syrup

Roll each sheet of pastry into 12 inch square
- 1 pkg frozen puff pastry
- 1/4 cup butter
- 3 cups red potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup thinly sliced onion
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- Omelets
- 6 eggs
- 1/4 cup minced fresh parsley
- 2 tbsp water
- dash of salt and pepper
