- 2 tablespoons salted sunflower kernels

- 2 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
- 1/3 C. mayonnaise
- 1 Tbs. sugar
- 1 Tbs. red wine vinegar

For the crust: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
- 17 1/2 ounces (1 package) prepared sugar cookie mix, such as Betty Crocker (see headnote)
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 8 tablespoons (1 stick) chilled unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
- 1/2 cup finely chopped macadamia nuts
- 5 large egg yolks
- 14 ounces (1 can) regular or nonfat sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tablespoon rum (may substitute rum extract)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
Maple Bacon Monkey Bread

Maple Bacon Monkey Bread.
- For the dough:
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 1/4 c. warm milk
- 1/3 c. butter, melted
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. salt
- 5 c. flour
- Other ingredients:
- 1/2 c. butter, melted
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 2-3 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. maple syrup
- 1 (11oz) pkg. center-cut bacon, cooked & crumbled

Position oven racks in the upper and lower thirds of the oven; preheat to 300 degrees

- 4 eggs
- 4 stalks celery, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 16 oz. jar sweet pickles, cubed
- 3/4 Tbs. prepared mustard
- 3/4 C. mayonnaise
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp. white sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Roast Chicken with Sweet Garlic, Melted Onions, and Sour Orange

- 1 (3 lb.) chicken
- 1/2 C. whole garlic cloves, peeled
- 1 C. olive oil, divided
- 1 bunch flat-leaf parsley
- 1 orange, zested
- 1 lime, zested
- 1 lb. yucca, peeled
- 2 Spanish onions, thinly sliced
- 16 fluid oz. orange juice
- 1 C. rich chicken stock
- 3 Tbs. olive oil
Sear-Roasted Salmon Fillets with Lemon-Ginger Butter

1. In a bowl, blend the butter, lemon juice, ginger, and chives well
- 6 tablespoons butter, well softened at room temperature
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, warmed slightly
- 2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger
- 2 tablespoons snipped fresh chives
- Olive oil for the pan
- 4 salmon fillets (5 ounces each), skinned if you like, patted dry
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
