Beat slowly to start; then fast speed for 3 min
- 3/4 c. flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. cocoa
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1 t vanilla
Yellow Texas Sheet Cake

- Mix and over low heat, boil for 1 minute
- 2 sticks butter
- 1 c. water
- 2 T cornstarch
- Add and mix
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp vanilla
- Add and mix
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. sour cream
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 2 c. flour
- Bake 375, 20 minutes, 11x15 pan
- Frosting
- Stir over low heat, bring to boil for 2 minutes or less
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 stick butter
- Add, boil 1 minute or less
- 1/4 c. milk
- Remove from heat
- Stir in, beat by hand
- 1 3/4 c. powdered sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
