- 4 carrots, cut diagonally into thin slices
- 2 onions, sliced, separated into rings
- 3 tbsp. butter
- 2 tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1 1/2 c. shredded old cheddar cheese

- 8 oz. bowtie pasta, cooked to package directions
- 2 tbsp. olive oil, divided
- 1 tbsp. butter
- 1 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cups sliced white mushrooms

- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- 3 cups milk
- 3 tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
