ONE-DISH MEAL

Another all-in-one meal! A colorful beef, vegetable and pasta casserole with a rich, tasty gravy
- 8 oz. penne pasta
- 12 cups boiling water
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cans of condensed onion soup
- 10 oz water
- 2 cups frozen peas and carrots
- 10 oz. can of sliced mushrooms, drained
- 1/2 cup french-fried onions
TERIYAKI MARINADE

Nice tangy flavor. Marinate beef for four hours or overnight
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp water
- 2 tbsp liquid honey
- 1 garlic clove, minced (or 1/4 tsp powder)
- 1/8 tsp ground ginger
GRILLED SIRLOIN STEAK

The marinade gives it savory seasoning plus it tenderizes the meat
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup red wine vinegar or cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup olives or vegetable oil
- 4 garlic cloves, chopped
- 1 tbsp pepper
- 1 tbsp ground giner
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 boneless beef sirloin steak (about 3lbs and 2 inches thick)
LOBSTER FRIED RICE CASSEROLE

- 2 cups long grain rice
- 3-1/2 cups water
- 1 pkg onion soup mix
- 2 cups diced lobster (beef, chicken or pork may be a substitute)
- 1 can mushrooms and juice
- 1/2 cup cooking oil
- 1/2 cup soya sauce
- 1/2-1 cup celery, cut up
- 1/2 cup green pepper

- 7 1/2 oz. tomato sauce

- 2 1/2 qts boiling water
- 1 tbsp cooking oil (optional)
- 1 1/2 cups grated medium cheddar cheese
- 1 cup grated medium cheddar cheese

JUMBO RAISIN COOKIES (drop)

NB ECONOMICS COOKBOOK - VVG COOKIES
- Cream together:
- Add 1 cup water to 2 cups raisins.
- Boil 5 minutes. cool.
- 1 cup shortening,
- 2 cups sugar
- Add: 3 eggs
- Beat this mixture well.
- Add 1 tsp vanilla.
- Then add raisins which have been boiled
- with the water.
BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES

- 16 cups sliced cucumbers with peel, 1/8 inch thick
- 6 medium onions, thinly sliced
- 1 large red pepper, seeded and slivered
- 1 large green pepper, seeded and slivered
- 1/2 cup coarse salt
- 5 cups granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp mustard seed
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1-1/2 tsp celery seed
- 3 cups white vinegar
