- 2 cups packed golden brown sugar
- 6 large eggs
- 1 cup seedless blackberry jam
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup walnut pieces toasted and chopped
- Icing:
- 1-1/2 cups packed dark brown sugar
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 1-1/2 sticks unsalted butter at room temperature

- 1/2 cup warm water
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon grated orange rind
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 6 eggs
- 1-1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 (8 oz.) can almond paste
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup chopped almonds, toasted
- 2 cups sifted powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
CHOCOLATE CREAM PIE

- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1 1/4 cups buttermilk
- For the flan:
- 1 (12-ounce) can evaporated milk
- 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature

- One chicken cut into 8 pieces, skin and visible fat removed
- 1-1/2 teaspoons olive oil
- 3 medium carrots, cut into 1" pieces
- 2 large celery ribs cut into 1" pieces
- 3 cups dry sparkling wine or champagne, 750 ml bottle
- 3 cups canned chicken broth
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
- 8 oz. wide noodles
