In large bowl soften yeast in warm water
- 1 package dry yeast
- 1-1/2 cups warm water
- 1 cup starter batter
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 5-1/4 - 5-1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
DARK CHOCOLATE CAKE

Preheat oven to 350. Butter and flour 13 x 9 x 2” metal baking pan
- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1-1/2 cups hot water
- 1-3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
CHICKEN BASIL

Press 3/4 teaspoon pepper into meaty sides of chicken breast halves
- 3/4 teaspoon ground pepper
- 4 chicken breast halves, skinned
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
- 1/4 chopped fresh basil
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 2 tablespoons minced fresh basil
- 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
PEACHES AND CREAM PIE

Combine flour, baking powder, salt, pudding mix, butter, egg and milk
- Filling:
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 small package instant vanilla pudding
- 3 tablespoons butter softened
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 15-20 ounces canned peach slices, drained, reserve syrup
- 1 8 oz. package cream cheese at room temperature
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 tablspoons peach syrup (about 1/4 cup)
- Topping:
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
MOJITO GRANITA

Put the sugar and water into a saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 cups water
- 1 bunch mint leaves (reserve some for garnish)
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
- 1/2 cup white rum
BEEF CASSEROLE WITH SPINACH

Place oven rack in upper third position, heat oven to 350 degrees
- 5 medium potatoes peeled
- 2-1/2 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1-1/2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 8 oz. ground beef
- 1 package (1o oz.) frozen spinach thawed and squeezed dry
- 1/2 cup cottage cheese
- 4 oz. Swiss cheese shredded (1 cup)
