  • 1 1/2 cups hot water
  • 3 large egg yolks beaten
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon peel (zest) grated
  • 1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Meringue, No Weep
  • 8 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 4 large egg whites room temperature
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
