Paula's Pink Taffy

Spray a large baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray and set aside
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 2 tsp. glycerin
- 2 tbs. butter, room temperature plus more for hands when pulling taffy
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 8 drops red food coloring (you can use any color you like, this is for a pink taffy
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract (you could use any flavoring you like here)
- Wax paper cut into 50 ( 3x3 inch ) squares
Pollis House Dressing

1. Mix all ingredients in blender until very smooth
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup cashews
- 1/4 cup water
- 3 tbsp. honey
- 1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
- 2 tsp. white vinegar
- 1 1/2 tsp. light soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic
Braised Rump Roast

Melt shortening in heavy dutch oven with tight-fitting cover
- 2 tbsp. shortening
- 1 clove garlic, sliced
- 4-5 lb. boned, rolled beef rump roast
- 1 cup sliced onion
- 1 tsp. celery salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 honey
- 2 tbsp vinegar
- 2 tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. ginger
Steak & Ale's Hawaiian Chicken Marinade

Combine all ingredients: Marinate chicken for 36 to 72 hours
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 2/3 cup sherry (not cooking sherry ( sub)
- 2 cups pineapple juice
- 1/4 cup cider vinegar
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2/3 tsp. garlic powder

- 2 medium white potatoes
- 1 egg
- 1 small onion, grated
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 2 tbsp. bread crumbs
- 3-4 tbsp. flour

- Dressing:
- 1/4 cup finely grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 onion powder
- 1/4 tsp. paprika
- 2 tsp. salt
- 6 chicken breast halves, boned and skinned
- vegetable oil for frying
- 1/2 cup salad oil
- 1/4 cup white wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp. mustard
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- 2 tbsp. honey
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Salad:
- 1 head romaine lettuce, washed and torn into bite-size pieces
- 18 cherry tomatoes
- 3 green onion, sliced with some of the green
- 2 small zucchini, cut into small pieces
- 6 new potatoes, steamed with skins on
Italian Bread Salad

Toss bread, tomatoes, cheese, basil, and green onions together in a large bowl
- RED WINE VINAIGRETTE:
- 5 cups Italian bread, torn into bite size pieces or cubed
- 2 cups tomatoes, chopped
- 1 cup (4 oz) mozzzarella cheese, cubed
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup green onions, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tbsp. red wine or raspberry vinegar
- 1-2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper

- 1/2 lb. butter
- 2 tbsp. vanilla extract

- 3 tbsp. shortening
- 3 tbsp. butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 lemon rind, grated
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- juice of 1 lemon
