48 Hour Slaw

Alternate layers of cabbage, onion rings and susgar in bowl, ending with some onion rings
- 1 head cabbage, shredded
- 2 onions, sliced in rings
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup cider vinegar
- 1 cup oil
- 1 tsp. prepared mustard
- 1 tsp. celery seed
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt

Hamburger Stroganoff

In lg. skillet, cook and stir ground beef and onion in butter until meat is brown and onion is tender
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 med onion, chopped(about 1/2 c.)
- 1/4 c.butter
- 2 tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 can (4 oz.) mushroom stems and pieces, drained
- 1 can (10 1/2 oz.) condensed cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup dairy sour cream
- 2 c. hot cooked noodles or rice
- snipped parsley
Chilis Chili

Saute meat in large saucepan
- 2 lbs. ground sirloin
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 8-ounce can tomato sauce
- 1 cup tomato soup (optional)
- 1 cup water
- 3 tab. chili powder
- 1 tab. salt
- 1 tab. paprika
- 1/2 tea. pepper
- 1/4 tea cumin
- 1/4 tea. cayenne

- Mayonnaise

- 1/4 lb. meat per person, may use thin sliced pastrami,ham, bologna, etc.

- Swiss cheese, 1 thin slice per person
- Lettuce, torn in small pieces

- dill pickles, sliced lengthwise
