- Cupcakes:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) plus 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- Frosting:
- 2 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) salted butter, at room temperature
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk

- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 to 2 pickled jalapeno chilies, coarsely chopped
- 1 bunch green onions, white part only, chopped
- 6 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
