- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast, or 1 ½ teaspoons of “rapid-rise” or instant yeast
- 7/8 cup buttermilk (lowfat is fine)
- ½ cup rolled oats (old fashioned or quick)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 ½ teaspoon salt
- 3 – 3 ¼ cup bread flour (You may need just a bit more for kneading.)
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- Olive oil for brushing the dough before baking
High Energy Breakfast Shake

Asian-Style Corn, Avocado and Sesame Salsa

1. Quickly cook the corn in a skillet with about a teaspoon of the sesame oil over medium heat
- 1-2 cups Frozen Corn, thawed
- 3 tsp. Sesame Oil
- 3 tbsp. Rice Vinegar
- 2 tbsp. Toasted Sesame Seeds

Broccoli with Kalamata Olives, Garlic and Lemon

In a large pot (one that accommodates your steamer), bring about 2 inches of water to a boil
- 1 Lb Of Broccoli Florets, cleaned and trimmed
- 1-2 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 10-12 Kalamata Olives (Or More If You Want)
- 1 Clove Of Garlic, minced
- ½ Tsp Dried Oregano
- Juice And Zest Of 1 Lemon
- Sea Salt And Fresh Cracked Pepper To Taste
Beer bread

- 3 3 3 cups flour (sifted)
- 3 3 3 teaspoons baking powder (omit if using Self-Rising Flour)
- 1 1 1 teaspoon salt (omit if using Self-Rising Flour)
- 1/4 1/4 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 1 1 (12 ounce) can beer
- 1/2 1/2 1/2 cup melted butter (1/4 cup will do just fine)

Note: If making your own bread, take 1/2 of a 1 pound loaf of sourdough and slice into cubes
- 2 Tbs Olive Oil
- 2-3 Shallots, chopped finely
- 10 Cremini Mushrooms, chopped (1 cup after chopping)
- 2 Ribs Celery, chopped
- 1 Box Trader Joes Prepared Chestnuts (about 1 1/4 cups, chopped)
- 7 Fresh Sage Leaves, chopped
- 2 Thyme Sprigs, leaves only
- 1 Tbs Fresh Chopped Marjoram
- 5 Cups Cubed Bread, (for homemade, see note)
- 1/2 to 1 Cup Warm Vegetable Broth
- Salt
- Pepper
"Cream" of Cauliflower Soup (Vegan)

Heat the oil or margarine in a soup pot and add the onion and garlic
- 1 tbsp. Canola Oil Or Soy Margarine
- 1 cup Chopped Onion
- 2-4 Cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 Head Cauliflower, chopped into 2 " chunks
- 2 medium Potatoes, peeled and diced
- 2 Vegetable Bouillon Cubes
- 6 cups Water, with 2 bouillon cubes
- 2 tsp. Salt Free Herb And Spice Seasoning Mix
- 1 tsp. Ground Coriander
- 1 cup Canned Great Northern Bean, drained and rinsed
- Salt And Pepper
Braised Short Ribs

- 8 Whole Beef Short Ribs

- 2 cups Beef Or Chicken Broth (Enough To Almost Cover Ribs)
