Dressed-Up Tomato Soup

Pulse tomatoes in a food processor 3-4 times or until finely dices
- 1 (28 oz.) can Italian-seasoned diced tomatoes
- 1 (32 oz.) container chicken broth
- 1 (26 oz.) can tomato soup
- 1/2 tsp. freshly ground pepper
- Toppings: sour cream, chopped fresh parsley, basil, chives, or rosemary; croutons, freshly grated Parmesan cheese; lemon zest
Magic Lemon Pie

Combine and pour into a baked pie shell
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 (15 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 c. lemon juice
- 1 tsp. lemon rind
- prepared pie shell
Carrot Cake

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 3 c. grated carrot
- 1 1/2 c. coarsely chopped pecans
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 small crushed pineapple, drained
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
- 1/2 c. butter
- 3/4 box (16 oz.) powdered sugar
- pinch salt
- 1 1/4 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped pecans
Dulce de Leche Cheesecake

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
- 1 (10 oz.) box shortbread cookies, (such as Lorna Doone)
- 1/4 c. blanced almonds, toasted
- 2 Tb. brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 4 Tb. unsalted butter, melted
- 2 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, at room temperature
- 3 Tb. flour
- 2 large eggs, plus 1 large egg yolk
- 1 3/4 c. dulce de leche, or other caramel sauce
- boiling water, for baking
Gray Family Gobs

Mix cake mix, flour, eggs, water and salad dressing together in a large bowl
- Filling:
- 1 chocolate cake mix
- 1 c. flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. water
- 2 Tb. salad dressing or mayonnaise
- 5 Tb. flour
- 1 c. milk
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. Crisco shortening
- 1 c. powdered sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Brisket

Mix marinade ingredients and marinate brisket overnight (or longer) in refrigerate
- Marinade:
- 1 (4-5 lb.) well-trimmed brisket
- 2 Tb. liquid smoke
- 4 Tb. soy sauce
- 2 tsp. onion salt
- 1 Tb. celery salt
- 1 Tb. Worchestershire
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. pepper
- 2 tsp. garlic salt
- Sauce:
- 3 Tb. brown sugar
- 3-4 drops Tabasco
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- dash nutmeg
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/2 c. ketchup
- 1 Tb. soy sauce
Pumpkin Whoopie Pies

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
- 1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter, (1 stick melted, 1/2 stick softened)
- 1 c. packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature, lightly beaten
- 1 c. canned pure pumpkin
- 1 Tb. pumpkin pie spice
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 3/4 tsp. + 2 pinches salt
- 1 2/3 c. flour
- 4 oz. cream cheese, chilled
- 1 c. powdered sugar
Baguette with Parmesan and Roasted Garlic

Directions 1. Preheat oven to 475 degrees
- 1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 heads garlic
- 1 baguette, halved crosswise and torn open lengthwise
- 1 teaspoon coarse salt
- Freshly ground pepper
- 4 ounces Parmesan cheese
Chocolate-Expresso Pots de Creme

Whisk together first 6 ingredients in top of a double boiler, add chocolate
- 2 c. half and half
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 Tb. instant expresso powder
- 1/4 c. unsweetened cocoa
- 1/4 c. brandy
- 8 oz. semisweet chocolate, cut into chunks (we tested with Scharffen Berger)
- Garnishes: unsweetened whipped cream, lavender
- opt. chocolate cups
Dulce de Leche-Banana Pie

1. Heat oven to 450 degrees
- Crust:
- 1 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. + 1 Tb. shortening
- 2-3 Tb. cold water
- Filling:
- 1 (13.4 oz.) can dulce de leche, (carmelized sweetened condensed milk)
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1 c. whipping cream
- 1/4 c. powdered sugar
- 1/2 c. semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 tsp. vegetable oil
