  • TOFFEE SAUCE:
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 1 pound brown sugar
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons good bourbon

  • SPICED PECANS:
  • 1 pound pecan halves
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 3/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature, more for greasing pans
  • Frosting:
  • 1 1/2 cups unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 5-6 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tsp almond extract, to taste
  • 4-5 tbsp half and half or whipping cream, until it reaches desired consistency.
