Ingredients

    tbsp olive oil

  • 1

    medium onion, finely chopped

  • 1/2

    lb lean ground beef or turkey

  • 1-2

    cloves garlic, minced

  • 1

    cup orange or white puree

  • 1

    cup marinara

  • 1/2

    cup lentil puree

  • 1

    cup chicken or vegetable broth

  • 2

    cups uncooked macaroni

  • salt and pepper to taste

  • grated parmesean

Directions

Heat the oil over medium heat in a deep skillet or earthenware pot. Add the onions and cook until they are slightly translucent, about 10 minutes; add the beef/turkey, stirring to break it up and cook until themeat is no longer red. Stir in the garlic, orange/white puree, marinara sauce, lentil puree, broth and macaroni. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium low, cover and simmer for 20-30 minutes or until pasta is tender. SEason with salt and pepper and grated Parmesean.
