Ingredients

  • Topping:
  • 8 T butter
  • 2 c sugar
  • 1 c buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 2 ½ c flour
  • 3 c finely cut rhubarb
  • ½ c pecans
  • 8 T butter
  • ¾ c evaporated milk
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 t vanilla
  • Mix together and bring to boil; boil 3 ½ mins. Beat with spoon. Pour on top of cake.

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter and 1 ¾ c sugar until light. Add buttermilk and flour. Stir rhubarb into batter. Pour into greased 9x13 pan. Remaining ¼ c sugar and sprinkle on top of batter. Bake 350 degrees. Not sure on baking time


Note: Can use dried buttermilk.
Can use 10x 14 pan with same amount of baking time.
