Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 pounds beef stew meat
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1/2 cup onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • 3 cups v-8 juice
  • 1 tsp instant beef bouillon
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 1/2 cups celery, sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups carrots, sliced

Preparation

Step 1

Coat meat with flour and 1 tsp salt.

Brown meat in hot oil. Add onions, garlic and thyme. Stir in V-8 juice, bouillon, and 1 cup water. Bring to a boil. Simmer 1 hour 15 minutes or until meat is tender. Add vegetables and simmer 30 minutes more.
