MANHATTAN CLAM CHOWDER

Ingredients
- 6 slices bacon
- 1 cup sliced celery
- 1 clove garlic, mmced
- 1 tsp salt
- Juice from 2 cans of baby clams
- 2 cans of baby clams
- 1 can tomato soup (OPTIONAL)
- 1 can tomatoes
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp dried thyme, crushed
- 2 cup potatoes, pared and cubed
- 4 small onions diced

Preparation
Step 1
In a large pan, saute bacon till crisp and then remove. Stir into bacon drippings and
brown : onions, celery, potatoes, garlic, thyme, and salt. Add clam juice and water and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer 10 to 20 minutes. Add clams, tomatoes and soup. Heat slowly stirring stirring several times. Serve with chopped bacon on top.
