Ingredients

  • 2 strips turkey bacon
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 rib celery, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 can chopped tomatoes
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 t black pepper
  • 1 t worcestershire sauce
  • 1 t hot pepper sauce
  • 1 lb medium shrimp, peeled & deveined

Preparation

Step 1

cook bacon in large skillet until crisp
crumble when cool. cook onion, bell pepper, & celery in drippings for 5 minutes.
stir in garlic, add tomatoes with juice, bay leaf, black pepper, worcestershire sauce, & hot pepper sauce. Heat to boiling, reduce heat & simmer for 20 minutes.

add shrimp and bacon & cook for 10 minutes or until shrimp are opaque. remove & discard bay leaf before serving over rice if desired.
