Ingredients
- 1 large vidalia onion chopped
- 6 cloves of garlic chopped
- 2 lbs of butterball ground turkey
- 1-2 T extra virgin olive oil
- 2-3 28oz cans of san marzano whole tomatoes
- 1 T dried oregano
- 1 T dried basil
- 1 T dried thyme
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp crushed red pepper
- 2 T tomato paste
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tsp sugar
- kosher salt and black pepper to taste

Step 1
In a large stock pot heat olive oil and sweat onions and garlic. add turkey and brown until there is no more pink turkey. pour mixture in a colander and drain all liquid. return to pot and add the remaining ingredients.cover and cook on medium low and to bring to low boil and reduce heat and simmer for at least an hour. stir often mashing whole tomatoes with spoon. the longer it cooks the better it gets.
serve on favorite pasta
