  • In a large pan, combine sugar, butter, boiling water and bring to a boil. Add peaches.

Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and half-and-half. (This makes a fairly stiff batter.) Drop by tablespoonfuls into boiling peach mixture. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Serve hot. If desired, sprinkle with a little cinnamon sugar and serve with cream or ice cream.
