Ingredients
- 2 2/3 c. flour
- 1 2/3 c. sugar
- 1 1/4 teas. Baking powder
- 1 1/4 teas. Baking soda
- 1 teas. salt
- 2/3 c. shortening
- 2/3 c. sour milk
- 1 1/4 c. mashed banana
- 2 eggs
- Frosting for Banana Cake
- 2 egg whites
- 1 stick butter
- 8 Tbls. shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. milk
- 1/2 teas maple flavoring

Step 1
Sift dry ingredients together into bow. Add 2/3 c. shortening, 2/3 c. sour milk, 1 1/4 c. mashed bananas. Beat for 2 minutes. Add eggs. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes.
Frosting:
Boil 1 c. milk 3 times, cooling each time. You will have 1/2 c. left. Be sure to cool completely.
Beat 2 egg whites til stiff and set aside. Put in bowl oleo, shortening, sugar and beat until fluffy. Add cooled milk a little at a time to creamed mixture, beatting until fluffy each time. Add egg whites in same manner. Add maple flavoring. Spread on cake.
